Building a business around AI art is legal now, and will likely stay that way. I don’t believe it’s a good long-term investment. The library of congress in the US is still making recommendations but current (published) opinions are leaning to company who wrote the algorithm being eventually established as the owner of the copyright for images/texts generated by their systems. This could be problematic in the long run for a ‘art as passive revenue’ strategy.
Naval gazing! 😆 yes, I like to ask artists “why do I care?” So much of what I’m seeing is so specific to one person’s experience that they cut off entry points for others out of a desire to control the read of their work.
